JFW Open Field Day – July 14 2018 at Pippy Park

It’s happening no matter the weather!   School-aged kids with accompanying adults, this is for you!  With special Junior Forest Wardens guests from Alberta, including the Chief Warden of Canada and the Chief Warden of Alberta!

This is what we’re planning – (check fine print for important info, below)!
– opening ceremonies at 1pm
– canoeing with Paddle NL (depending on pond conditions!)*
– cordage (rope making)
– planting trees
– building shelters
– making luminaries
– fire starting
– wood carving,
– orienteering
– outdoor cooking
– healthy snacks
– and more!

There will also be a JFW information station where you can pick up great info on how to start your own Junior Forest Warden Club!

 

Fine Print – *Canoeing spots are limited. All interested in canoeing must sign or present signed (by parents or legal guardian for youth under 18) waiver at the canoeing registration desk. Registration begins after the Opening Ceremonies. Families can email in advance for waivers (before noon on Friday July 13th 2018 – receiving waiver does not guarantee canoe spot!)
